What made you want to compete in beauty pageants?
To be honest, before I never saw any potential in myself, and I never imagined being glamorous on stage. I was only active and focused on school activities, such as debate, oration, and the like. But I have met people that I am always grateful for, who saw the potential in me, trained me during my humble beginnings, and believed in me. They are the ones who pushed me to be a better version of myself, and it really boosted my confidence. I think one of the reasons as well why I compete in beauty pageants is not just that I want a crown, and not because I aim for popularity, but because I do have a unique story to tell everyone that would inspire people.
If you win a pageant, how would you use your title to help others?
First and foremost, in order for me to help others with the crown that holds a big responsibility, I will need to work with the organization. I will collaborate with them and support them 100% in whatever causes they have planned and they plan to. By working with the organization and being committed, I will be able to help the community. I will also see my title as a powerful platform to inspire positive change and uplift those in need. I am committed to using my voice and influence to advocate for important causes, such as advocating for mental health awareness and support, and body positivity. Through partnerships with charitable organizations and community initiatives, I will strive to make a tangible difference in the lives of others, spreading love, kindness, and hope wherever I go. Winning a title is not just about personal achievement; it’s about leveraging this platform to create a brighter, more inclusive world for all.
How do you deal with people who might say mean things?
Well, first and foremost, this is not new to me. I would say that hurtful words often stem from ignorance or insecurity. I was told to lose more weight and get back in shape. I was told that I am a pretty face but I need to work on my body. When faced with criticism or negativity, I always choose empathy over anger. I understand that those who lash out are often battling their own demons, and I refuse to let their negativity define me. Instead of internalizing their words, I use them as fuel for my mission. Every derogatory comment, every judgmental glance only strengthens my resolve to promote self-love and acceptance. I refuse to be shaken by the opinions of others because I know my worth is not determined by their narrow standards of beauty. But let me be clear, advocating for body positivity does not mean ignoring constructive feedback or refusing to acknowledge areas where I can grow. It means embracing my flaws, celebrating my uniqueness, and striving to be the best version of myself, both inside and out.
What kind of person do you think does well in pageants?
Beauty queens who do well in pageants are those who are strong, graceful, and real. They’re confident but not conceited, kind, and always strive to be better. They welcome everyone and know beauty is more than looks. Most importantly, they use their fame to make the world better for everyone.
Being in a pageant means a lot of people are watching. How will you stay yourself through it all?
In any situation, especially in a beauty pageant, being true to yourself is crucial. Despite all the opinions and pressures, I’ll stick to my values and beliefs. I’ll embrace what makes me different, stay strong in what I believe, and face any challenge with honesty and determination. Being genuine isn’t just a choice for me, it’s who I am, and I hope to inspire others to be themselves too.
What do you dream of doing in the future, pageant world or not?
In the future, I dream of being a force for good. Whether in pageants or not, I want to use my voice to support causes like mental health, body positivity, and the environment. I aim to inspire others to be themselves, follow their dreams, and make a positive impact. My goal is to leave behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and acceptance that reaches far beyond any stage or title.
