Beauty Queen: Florietess Villarico

I’m a baker, cake designer, former OFW; waitress, gym enthusiast and a mom of 2 boys – 18 & 16 years old. I was a single mom for a decade and thanks God, I found the man for me.

Florietess is a testament to how regular exercise can keep you an absolute beauty.

So, how did you get into pageantry? What made you want to compete?

It was really my dream to be a beauty queen but I grew up who had low self-esteem and was chubby. It was one of my close friends who sent me the link for the Queen Mother of Cebu 2023. She said, “You have the potential dai, try mo, who knows?”

Queen Mother of Cebu is my 1st ever beauty pageant and I joined at the age of 43. (now 44)

What does beauty mean to you? It’s more than just looks, right?

Beauty should be 50% looks and 50% good character.

What makes you special? What sets you apart from the other contestants?

All the contestants are unique we are all special. But I worked hard to be physically fit at my age, I’m a gym enthusiast for 5 years now and I am also a Baker & cake designer. Self-discipline is a big part of my character, not to be tempted to eat all the cakes and cookies in front of me.😄

If you win, how would you use your title to help others?

In and outside of pageantry I tried my very best to help people who are close to my heart especially those who are sick.

What’s the coolest thing you’ve learned from being in pageants?

I’ve learned more about the value of me as a mother and as a woman. That i can do more. It’s all about women empowerment.

How do you deal with people who might say mean things?

I just walk away and don’t bother.

Tell us about a time something amazing happened during a pageant!

That I was awarded as Most Stylish Mom.  It was really a surprise to me.

What kind of person do you think does well in pageants?

The one who is mentally and physically prepared.

Being in a pageant means a lot of people are watching. How do you stay yourself through it all?

Before I walked on that stage, I always reminded myself that I am here because I am a beauty queen. Beauty queen means you are confident and empowered.

What do you dream of doing in the future, pageant world or not?

I really wanted to have a cake shop in my home town in Naga.  And I’m planning and manifesting for it.

My message to all women especially mothers is that it’s never too late for a dream. “Just believe in yourself and work hard for it. Put God in everything you do and always be kind; the world needs it.”
