What inspired you to participate in this pageant?

What inspired me the most is my mother. Because of her, I gained the confidence I needed to participate in this pageant. Her trust and undying support give me the motivation to continue trying and to always trust myself.

What qualities do you think are important for a beauty queen?

A woman who has strong determination and passion, who loves her community and her fellow people, a woman who is true to herself and always carries a smile despite the struggles she faces.

How do you plan to use your platform if you win this pageant?

If I am given the chance to win this pageant, I will partner with the local government to advocate for women’s empowerment policies. In local barangays, I will spearhead programs on women empowerment symposiums, reproductive health awareness, and be involved in and aid HIV testing. I will also make an impact on our community by helping and empowering others.

How do you stay confident and maintain a positive attitude during the competition?

To always trust yourself. As a first-timer in this pageantry, I always had self-doubts and hesitations because not only am I a first-timer, but I am also the youngest among my fellow candidates. I conquered all of these by trusting myself and always having faith.

What challenges have you faced during your pageant journey, and how have you overcome them?

As a first-timer who has never participated in pageants, I have faced self-doubts and hesitations. I am also the youngest among the 13 candidates, but that didn’t stop me from pursuing my dream. I conquered these challenges by reminding myself that I am also capable of anything if I put my heart into it.

What do you think sets you apart from the other contestants in this pageant?

I believe that everyone has their own uniqueness. For me, I know to myself that I have the traits of a beauty queen not only because of my looks but because I have a strong determination to help others who don’t get the same privileges as I do, especially those in need. I am a proud student leader with an extensive background in laying out my compassion and pursuit towards the call of duty.

Throughout my tenure in high school and even outside, I have engaged and dedicated myself to various activities aimed at the empowerment of women and youth. I believe I have this specific uniqueness that sets me apart from fellow candidates, which propels me to fulfill my duties as your Mutya ng San Francisco.

How do you balance your pageant duties with other responsibilities in your life?

As a dedicated student leader, I am no stranger to time management. I have proven on numerous occasions that I am capable of balancing my time from one responsibility to another. I have shown my exceptional capabilities in delivering for the people I serve while exercising my individual liberties. I believe with this, I am most capable and efficient even when under pressure.

What do you think is the biggest issue facing young women today, and how can it be addressed?

In my advocacies for this pageant, I have outlined my priorities in addressing problems facing young women like myself, especially on the topic of teenage pregnancy. First, I want to take the message to each barangay. It will be my sworn duty to deliver the message of practicing safe sex. I will also partner with our LGU and BLGUs to push for anti-teenage pregnancy measures that include reproductive health awareness and the expansion of HIV testing. This, I believe, is the most effective capacity I could deliver for my constituents as your Mutya ng San Francisco.

How do you plan to give back to your community if you win this pageant?

I am most remembered by the image my mother projected upon me as her child: her caring demeanor, compassion, diligence, and advocacy to do what is right for other people. I want every San Franciscohanon to gaze upon the crown of Mutya ng San Francisco in the same way. I shall instill in everybody a sense of dignity and pride in our growing and ever-powerful municipality. I promise to champion advocacies and policies in collaboration with our LGU and BLGUs, aimed at empowering not only specific sectors of society but everyone. I want to serve as a Mutya that serves EVERYONE. This, I believe, is my greatest contribution to San Francisco and the rest of the community.

What advice would you give to young women who are considering entering a pageant?

As a 17-year-old young adult who has not entered any pageants before, my advice would be not to limit yourself in your capabilities. Try new things to witness and know that you are capable. Believe and trust yourself. Do not let anyone hinder you from your dreams. Keep soaring and “padayon.”
