Beauty Queen: Faith Shenaiah Encarguez Narsico

This young lady from Barangay Fortaliza in tuburan, Cebu is a showstopper with a big heart. She is a proud and beautiful Morena. Faith is a candidate in the Binibining Tuburan

So, how did you get into pageantry? What made you want to compete?

When I was young, I dreamed of being one of those ladies standing in front of other people. Now, I believe that this is a great platform to showcase who you are and to promote my advocacy, which is inclusiveness. By doing this, I could be an inspiration to people and serve as a role model who conquers many challenges in life.

What does beauty mean to you? It’s more than just looks, right?

Beauty is not just about your appearance but also your personality. If you are beautiful inside, with a great personality and attitude, it will reflect on your outside self. Beauty is an overall package, but it is up to you how you handle yourself.

What makes you special? What sets you apart from the other contestants?

As you can see, I am the only candidate with Morena skin color, but it didn’t stop me from competing in this pageant. Instead, it motivates me to represent other women and break stereotypes, showing that women with my skin color can attend, perform, and showcase themselves on this kind of platform. They should not be ashamed but instead be proud, as this skin color represents the true beauty of being a Filipina.

If you win, how would you use your title to help others?

In Brgy. Fortaliza, during the rainy season, most of the area gets submerged because there is no proper irrigation for water flow. So, if I win the title, I’ll use this opportunity to ask for help and communicate with our LGU. My first project will be putting proper irrigation in my barangay. In that way, I can help my people and improve safety not just in my barangay but also in the whole Tuburan.

What’s the coolest thing you’ve learned from being in pageants?

As a pageant enthusiast, the greatest thing I’ve learned is the friendships I build with the co-candidates. I’ve met lots of people with different personalities, but the friendships I create with them are very cool.

How do you deal with people who might say mean things?

I am an optimistic person. I ignore those kinds of words and use them as inspiration to keep moving forward. Because I believe that if you show those people that you can, they will be stunned by your incredible accomplishments.

Tell us about a time something amazing happened during a pageant!

When I bought my first-ever heels, in pageants, your heels are your best friend throughout the journey. I was overwhelmed and happy during that time.

What kind of person do you think does well in pageants?

I think it’s important to be optimistic. In pageants, there are wins and losses. No matter what happens, win or lose, you must remain optimistic. In that way, you can continue your journey and see it as motivation.

Being in a pageant means a lot of people are watching. How do you stay yourself through it all?

Through confidence. I know it’s not easy being watched by thousands of people, but being confident is the key to overcoming it.

What do you dream of doing in the future, pageant world or not?

I dream of being successful, in pageants or not, as long as I see myself happy doing those things. For me, being successful is not just about having a degree or diploma but being grateful and filled with happiness while doing it.
