THE MOX

Who are the members of the band and what instruments do each play, as well as vocals?

The Mox is composed of original founders Migz Llado (on bass and vocals), Lorenzo Tanos (on drums), James Relativo (on guitars and backing vocals), and Raphael Orga (on guitars) — who joined the band in March 2022.

When did you form your band? Did you know each other beforehand?

The Mox was founded by Lorenzo Tanos in mid-2019. Enzo knew Migz from his wrestling publication “Smark Henry” while, they knew James as a big wrestling fan and a referee from the Manila Wrestling Federation. They met up at Cubao Expo sometime in 2019 to discuss the possibility of playing some of Enzo’s compositions and that was where it started.

Who writes the music?

When the band first started, everything was written by Enzo. He had an album’s worth of existing older material that he wanted to play in a band set-up. However, Migz also had a solo musical career on the side, so they discussed if Migz should also start contributing to the band’s repertoire. Now, the band is balancing writing duties—with James also proposing a few songs.

A great cyberpunk/rock song with masterful guitar and vocals

Where do you draw your inspiration from for your songs?

The Mox gets inspiration from everyday situations in society. Whether it’s a bad dating experience like Enzo’s; a news story or a third-person look at daily struggles, or even just Migz’s thoughts, the band does its best to verbalize and convert many of these happenings to a musical experience like no other.

Good social song with impressive beat.

Are you performing live, and where can people see you?

The Mox regularly plays in Metro Manila—mostly in the Marikina, Quezon City, and Makati scene. However, they have a few big gigs coming up like the V1be Booze and Arts Festival on October 27 at Cebu’s SM Seaside Concert Grounds; the upcoming Last Rakrakan Festival (2023) on November 25/26 at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Paranaque City, and one more that hasn’t been announced yet slated for 2024.

Rock love. Hearing a bit of Green Day influence in this song. Well done, like this song a lot
