What is Mr. Ambassador?
To me, Mr. Ambassador is more than just someone with good looks; he also possesses a good heart. He must have unique qualities such as diplomacy, leadership, and advocacy. It involves effectively representing a cause, institution, or nation with integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to fostering positive relationships and achieving goals. As a future educator and as an ambassador, I must be a catalyst for change.
What motivated you to join Mr. Ambassador?
What motivated me to join Mr. Ambassador was the support of my loved ones, along with my own experiences and passions. These help me have a strong foundation that can drive me to excel as a Mr. Ambassador. It’s a great opportunity for me to make a meaningful impact in my community and beyond, to start a change that can make this world a better place.
Was it your dream to join any competitions for men since childhood?
Ever since I was a child, it has been my dream to join competitions like pageants. As a part of the LGBTQIA+ community, pageants are a way for us to represent our authentic selves to other people. I also want to challenge myself to gain self-confidence and showcase my talent to the world.
Before joining the Mr. Ambassador competition, were you expecting to become part of the said competition for men, or did you just join coincidentally?
Joining Mr. Ambassador for me was a challenge because aside from joining this kind of pageant, I was also facing my school works like thesis and others. But because of the support of my friends and family, I was able to join the said pageant. I made this as an opportunity for me to learn and grow more as an individual.
After you found out that you are one of the contestants for Mr. Ambassador, what did you expect from the crowd around you? And how about your family, were they excited and happy, or were they disappointed?
When I found out that I would be the representative for Mr. Ambassador, I expected 101 percent support. Most of my friends and family were very happy and excited about the opportunity.
After you joined Mr. Ambassador, did you realize something for your future? Is the competition for men still a future dream?
When I started joining pageants, I began joining pageants locally. Upon joining pageants, I found out that pageants give me an opportunity to recreate myself into the best version. I joined a lot of pageants; in fact, I joined gay and male pageants. In the future, I do hope that if I will be given a chance to join again in any kind of pageant, I will still accept the challenge because my dream is to represent myself not just locally but also internationally.
While walking in front of the crowd, are you nervous, or do you just face them with full confidence?
The first time that I joined a pageant, I was so scared to face the crowd. But because of the full support of my parents and family, I was able to balance myself and not be scared because I truly believed that this is the only way for me to boost my confidence.
How old are you now, and how tall are you?
Now, I’m 23 years old, standing 5’6″.
Were you still a student when you joined the Mr. Ambassador competition last year?
At the time that I joined Mr. Ambassador, I was still a student. That’s the reason why I needed to balance myself and use my time in the most productive way. I multitasked at that time to do my school works as well as my preparation for the pageant.
During the competition, were you expecting that you could win?
During the competition, I never expected that I could win because, for me, the most important thing in joining any kind of competition is to do your best and enjoy.
Have you won any awards from the competition?
Every time that I joined gay and male pageants, I also received some special awards, and one of those is the “Best in Production Number”.
What other competitions have you joined?
At the age of 15, I started to join gay pageants. In fact, I joined 12 gay pageants. At the age of 19, I started to join male pageants like Macho Gay. At the age of 23, I started to join male pageants, and “Mr. Ambassador” is my first pageant in the male category. These pageants became my source of income to support my studies because ever since I was a child, only my grandparents were the ones who supported me in all of my needs. Because at the age of 4, my mother left me. At a very young age, I was already engaged in business. I sold fruits and vegetables. During my high school days, I started to learn and apply makeup and choreography. I also became an event organizer. These experiences taught me a lesson that I should stand on my own feet.
My pageant experience includes:
Ms. Gay Lubo
Ms. Gay Malubog
Ms. Gay Babag
Ms. Gay Hamtik
Macho Gay Bonbon
Macho Gay Kalubihan
Macho Gay Biasong
Macho Gay Babag
Mr. Ambassador.
