Model and Beauty Queen Kisha Asensi

Kisha is from Poblacion, Cebu and is candidate #3 in the Binibining Tuburan beauty pageant. She is extremely intelligent, empathetic, and you can gather from what she has written below, a future leader. There are no walls that can stop this gorgeous young lady.

So, how did you get into pageantry? What made you want to compete?

My biggest supporter and the person who motivates me the most is my mom. She constantly pushes me to do better and encourages me to explore the world with confidence. Her unwavering belief in me and her relentless encouragement give me the strength to try new things. It is because of her support that I have found my passion for pageantry.

Through her guidance, I have discovered my potential and developed the confidence to pursue my dreams. Her influence has shaped me into a more confident and ambitious person, and I strive to be a role model for others, just as she has been for me. My mom’s encouragement to step out of my comfort zone and embrace new experiences has been instrumental in my personal growth and success. Her constant support and motivation are the driving forces behind my achievements and aspirations.

What does beauty mean to you? It’s more than just looks, right?

Beauty is not just about physical appearance; it encompasses the essence of one’s spirit, character, and perspective on the world. True beauty lies in the way we carry ourselves, the kindness we show to others, and the strength of our character. It is a reflection of our inner self and how we choose to perceive and interact with the world around us.

Each person’s definition of beauty is unique and cannot be confined to a single standard. It is an individualized point of view that emerges from self-awareness and self-acceptance. When we know ourselves deeply, embracing our strengths and acknowledging our flaws, we radiate a natural beauty that transcends mere physical attributes.

Recognizing and appreciating the goodness in others enhances our own beauty. By seeing the kindness in others, we cultivate empathy and compassion, which are the true markers of a beautiful soul. When we love and are loved, our inner light shines brighter, and we become naturally beautiful.

In essence, beauty is an amalgamation of our inner qualities and how we perceive and treat the world around us. It is about fostering a positive outlook, nurturing our inner spirit, and spreading kindness. When we live with authenticity and compassion, we embody true beauty, inspiring others to see and appreciate the beauty within themselves and the world.

What makes you special? What sets you apart from the other contestants?

What sets me apart from the other contestants is the fact that I am uniquely myself, and no one else can replicate that. My individuality is my greatest strength, and it is this uniqueness that I bring to the stage. Just like my pageant sisters, I have my own special qualities that define who I am.

I am proud of my individuality because it encompasses my experiences, my values, and my aspirations. Each of us is unique, but what makes me stand out is my unwavering belief in the power of authenticity. I am strong, not just in physical presence, but in heart and spirit. This strength is reflected in my resilience, my determination, and my compassionate nature.

Moreover, I embrace my imperfections and turn them into strengths. I believe that beauty is not about fitting into a mold but about celebrating what makes us different. I strive to inspire others by showing that true beauty lies in being true to oneself and embracing one’s uniqueness.

In addition to my inner strength, my commitment to personal growth and continuous learning sets me apart. I am constantly seeking ways to improve myself, not just for my own benefit but to make a positive impact on those around me. My journey in pageantry is not just about winning a crown but about using this platform to uplift and inspire others.

In heart, what makes me different is my unwavering commitment to being authentically me, coupled with my dedication to embodying strength, beauty, and kindness in all that I do. This combination of qualities makes me not only a unique contestant but a role model for others, showing that our true power lies in our individuality.

If you win, how would you use your title to help others?

I aspire to be the voice of the voiceless, advocating for those who cannot speak for themselves and striving to make a meaningful impact in any way I can. By leveraging the power of social media, I aim to spread awareness about critical issues and use this platform for positive change. Social media has an unparalleled reach, and by utilizing it effectively, we can bring attention to problems that might otherwise go unnoticed.

To address a problem, the first step is to acknowledge its existence. Many issues in our world persist because they are overlooked or ignored. By raising awareness and initiating conversations, we can begin to dismantle the barriers that prevent these problems from being resolved. Social media offers a unique opportunity to educate and inform a vast audience, breaking down misinformation and fostering understanding.

Moreover, addressing these problems requires a collective effort. I believe in the power of community and collaboration. By inviting helping hands from all corners of society, we can pool our resources, knowledge, and compassion to tackle the challenges we face. This collaborative approach not only strengthens our resolve but also amplifies our impact, making it possible to achieve lasting solutions.

In today’s world, we are confronted with numerous complex issues, from social injustice and environmental degradation to public health crises and economic disparities. By using social media as a tool for advocacy and change, we can mobilize support, inspire action, and create a ripple effect of positive change. My goal is to use my platform to highlight these issues, share stories of those affected, and encourage others to join the effort in finding solutions.

In conclusion, my mission is to be a voice for the voiceless, utilizing social media to raise awareness and foster a collaborative approach to solving the problems we face today. By acknowledging these issues and inviting collective action, we can work towards a better, more just world for all.

What’s the coolest thing you’ve learned from being in pageants?

The coolest aspect of joining pageants is the opportunity to meet influential people who help me strengthen my weaknesses and become better in every way possible. Participating in pageants allows me to learn more about myself, step out of my comfort zone, and have fun. It’s a journey of self-discovery and personal growth that extends far beyond the competition itself.

One of the most rewarding parts of this experience is the chance to interact with individuals who have achieved great things in their lives. Their insights and guidance are invaluable, helping me to identify areas where I can improve and offering strategies to overcome my challenges. These interactions not only enhance my skills but also inspire me to aim higher and push my boundaries.

Pageantry also provides a platform for personal development. It challenges me to refine my talents, build my confidence, and develop a strong sense of self. Through this process, I gain a deeper understanding of who I am and what I am capable of achieving. This self-awareness is crucial for growth, allowing me to harness my strengths and address my weaknesses effectively.

Moreover, stepping out of my comfort zone is a significant aspect of pageantry. It encourages me to take risks, embrace new experiences, and face my fears head-on. This adventurous spirit is essential for personal growth and development, enabling me to become more resilient and adaptable.

Participating in pageants is also about having fun and enjoying the journey. It is a unique opportunity to express myself creatively, build lasting friendships, and celebrate the achievements of myself and others. While the competition is an important part of the experience, the camaraderie and joy that come with it are equally valuable.

Furthermore, joining pageants helps me find my purpose and aspire to be a role model. It allows me to use my platform to inspire and uplift others, showing that with determination and hard work, anything is possible. I am committed to making the most of this opportunity by being kind, showing character, and making a positive impact on those around me.

How do you deal with people who might say mean things?

I try my best not to let negativity affect me, but as a human being, I cannot always prevent feeling weak, scared, and worried. These emotions are natural and a part of life’s journey. However, I have found that the best way to cope with these feelings is to lean on the people who love, care for, and support me through every step.

Surrounding myself with good people who exude positivity is crucial for my well-being. Their encouragement and uplifting spirits help me navigate the challenges I face and remind me of my strengths. These individuals are my pillars, providing a sense of security and belonging that bolsters my resilience.

In moments when I am confronted with mean-spirited words or actions, I choose to respond with kindness and compassion. I do not wish ill upon those who try to bring me down. Instead, I hope they find kindness and forgiveness in their hearts. Holding onto negativity only fosters more negativity, whereas forgiveness leads to peace and healing.

Forgiveness is a powerful tool that allows us to let go of resentment and anger. It liberates us from the burden of past hurts and enables us to move forward with a lighter heart.

It’s an opportunity to grow, to learn, and to celebrate one’s individuality and strengths.

By embracing this mindset, I hope to create a welcoming environment where women feel encouraged to pursue their dreams. Pageants can be a platform for self-expression, personal development, and community engagement. They offer a chance to make lifelong friends, to build confidence, and to advocate for meaningful causes.

Ultimately, my journey is about more than just personal achievement. It’s about fostering a sense of community and support, and about inspiring others to believe in themselves and their abilities. Let’s transform the pageant world into a place where everyone feels valued and empowered to shine.

By forgiving others, we create space for more love and positivity in our lives, which ultimately contributes to our inner peace.

In my journey, I have learned that the strength to overcome adversity comes from within, but it is also deeply influenced by the support system around us. The love and care from my family and friends act as a shield against negativity, reinforcing my belief in the goodness of people. Their unwavering support helps me rise above my fears and worries, empowering me to face challenges head-on.

Moreover, embracing positivity and practicing forgiveness not only improves my mental and emotional well-being but also sets an example for others. It demonstrates that we can choose how to respond to negativity and that kindness is always the better option. This approach fosters a more compassionate and understanding community, where we uplift one another rather than tear each other down.

In the end, while I cannot entirely avoid feeling weak, scared, or worried, I cope by surrounding myself with loving and supportive people. Their positivity uplifts my spirit, and through forgiveness, I find peace. I strive to respond to negativity with kindness, hoping that others will find the same inner peace and strength that I have discovered. This heartfelt approach to life helps me stay resilient and grounded, no matter the challenges I face.

Tell us about a time something amazing happened during a pageant!

I am amazed by people who, despite not knowing the candidates personally, offer their 100 percent support. They see not only the external beauty of the contestants but also appreciate their character and the advocacies they stand for. This level of support is truly inspiring and impactful. It demonstrates a deep understanding and recognition of the candidates’ efforts to make a positive difference.

Such support goes beyond merely cheering for individuals; it helps to uplift entire communities. When people rally behind these candidates, they are endorsing the values and causes the candidates promote, fostering a sense of unity and purpose. This collective encouragement empowers the candidates to continue their advocacy work, benefiting both the individuals involved and the broader community.

What kind of person do you think does well in pageants?

In a world where competition often overshadows collaboration, we must strive to uplift others rather than dragging them down for our own gain. This culture of tearing others apart to elevate oneself should never be normalized. Instead, we must champion the values of empathy, kindness, and mutual respect.

Imagine a society where every individual is committed to the growth and well-being of their peers. In such a community, the act of helping one another becomes second nature. When we focus on uplifting each other, we create an environment where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Success, then, is not a limited resource to be hoarded, but a shared achievement that enriches all.

To foster such a culture, we need to be open to change. Change begins with introspection, understanding that our actions have profound impacts on others. By being kind, we not only help those around us but also set a powerful example that inspires further acts of kindness. Each act of compassion and support ripples outward, creating waves of positive change that can transform societies.

Love, at its core, is the foundation for peace. When we love unconditionally and selflessly, we bridge gaps created by misunderstanding, prejudice, and hatred. Love encourages us to see beyond differences, to recognize the shared humanity in each other. This recognition is the first step toward building a peaceful world, where conflicts are resolved through dialogue and understanding rather than violence and coercion.

By embracing love and kindness, we not only enrich our own lives but also contribute to a collective spirit of unity and peace. Let us all commit to this path, where we support one another’s growth, celebrate each other’s successes, and face challenges together. In doing so, we create a world where peace is not a distant dream, but a living, breathing reality.

Together, let us break the cycle of negativity and build a culture of positivity and love. Let us be the change we wish to see, and in our journey, find the peace that we all seek.

Being in a pageant means a lot of people are watching. How do you stay yourself through it all?

I always try to remember to have fun and to appreciate those who support me endlessly. I am doing this not just for myself, but for my family who always believe in my potential and encourage me to do my best. Their unwavering support motivates me to strive for excellence in everything I do.

My goal is to inspire others and show that pageants should not be seen as intimidating or unwelcoming. Pageantry can be a positive and empowering experience, open to all women who wish to participate.

What do you dream of doing in the future, pageant world or not?

I plan to join more pageants if given the chance, as it offers an incredible opportunity to meet new people and experience different environments. By exploring the pageant world, I aim to find a place for myself not only within the pageant community but also in the broader context of the real world.

Participating in pageants allows me to see the world from diverse perspectives. Each event introduces me to unique stories, cultures, and viewpoints, enriching my understanding and appreciation of the world around me. This exposure helps me grow as an individual, fostering empathy and open-mindedness.

Moreover, engaging in the pageant world provides a platform to showcase my talents, passions, and advocacy. It’s a chance to contribute positively to the community and to inspire others to pursue their dreams fearlessly. I want to demonstrate that pageantry is more than just a competition; it’s a journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and personal growth.

Through these experiences, I hope to build lasting connections and friendships, learn valuable life skills, and gain the confidence to face various challenges. Ultimately, my goal is to make a meaningful impact both within the pageant world and beyond, using my experiences to shape a better and more inclusive future for all.
