Beauty Queen: Flordelyn B. Olegario

Flordelyn B. Olegario, Age: 20 is a future star from Ibabao Cordova, Cebu

How do you stay positive in your day-to-day life?

Flordelyn: Positive thinking has been instrumental in my life in numerous ways. It has helped me navigate challenges with resilience, maintain a hopeful perspective during difficult times, and approach new opportunities with optimism and enthusiasm. By focusing on the bright side of situations and believing in my ability to overcome obstacles, I’ve been able to maintain a positive mindset and achieve my goals more effectively.

Is there anything you would change about yourself?

Flordelyn: One thing I wish I could change about myself is my tendency to overthink things at times. While it’s important to analyze situations thoroughly, overthinking can lead to unnecessary stress and indecision. I’d like to cultivate a greater sense of trust in my intuition and ability to make decisions confidently.

What would you consider your biggest failure?

Flordelyn: Fear would ultimately my biggest failure. It holds me back from pursuing my goals or trying new things. From observing how fear impacts to me, I’ve learned the importance of facing challenges with courage and perseverance. It’s crucial to acknowledge fear but not let it dictate our actions or limit our potential. Instead, we can use fear as a motivator to push ourselves beyond our comfort zones and grow personally and professionally.

How do remain focussed?

Flordelyn: I maintain focus by breaking tasks into manageable chunks, prioritizing them, and using techniques like deep breathing or mindfulness to stay grounded. Additionally, I take regular breaks to recharge and ensure a healthy work-life balance.

How do you define success?

Flordelyn: Success, for me, is about achieving personal growth, making a positive impact, and finding fulfillment in what I do. My goals to achieve success include continuously improving my capabilities to provide better assistance, contributing to the development of benefits I can offer, and fostering meaningful connections with other people to support them in achieving their goals as well.

Do you have a favorite quote?

Flordelyn: One of my favorite quotes is: “The only way to do great work is to love what you do.” – Steve Jobs

This quote resonates with me because it emphasizes the importance of passion and dedication in achieving excellence. When you love what you do, it doesn’t feel like work; it becomes a source of motivation and fulfillment. It’s a reminder to pursue endeavors that ignite passion and to strive for greatness in those pursuits.

What makes you happy outside of family?

Flordelyn: I find fulfillment in providing valuable assistance to other people. Knowing that I’ve been able to help someone solve a problem, learn something new, or simply brighten their day brings me a sense of satisfaction and purpose it is because I know for myself that I’m not just there because I want a existence but I was there to help and bring a positive change to them.

How do you feel you can grow over the next year?

Flordelyn: Overcoming the fear of failure involves reframing it as an opportunity for growth and learning. By shifting focus from avoiding failure to embracing it as a natural part of the journey toward success, one can develop resilience and courage. Setting realistic goals, breaking tasks into manageable steps, and cultivating a positive mindset are all strategies that can help overcome the fear of failure. Additionally, seeking support from mentors or peers, and learning from setbacks rather than dwelling on them, can foster a more resilient mindset.

How do you stay grounded with so much happening around you?

Flordelyn: Maintaining a healthy work-life balance involves setting boundaries, prioritizing self-care, and being mindful of how time is spent. I allocate specific hours for work and leisure activities, ensuring there’s dedicated time for relaxation, hobbies, and spending time with loved ones. Regular breaks throughout the day help prevent burnout, and I make a conscious effort to disconnect from work-related tasks outside of designated hours. Additionally, I prioritize activities that promote physical and mental well-being, such as exercise, meditation, and spending time outdoors.

Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

Flordelyn: In the next five years, I aim to have a progressive province. This will involve conducting thorough research, gathering input from residents, allocating resources efficiently, and regularly monitoring progress to ensure goals are met. Additionally, I will prioritize transparency, accountability, and inclusivity in decision-making processes to foster trust and engagement among residents. By taking a holistic approach and leveraging the strengths of the community, I believe we can make significant progress towards becoming a more progressive province within the next five years.
