The gorgeous and talented Mizzy recently won the Mutya ng Balon Anito 2024 (Mariveles, Bataan). Congratulations and well-deserved.
How did you get into pageantry? What made you want to compete?
The first time I competed in a pageantry was when I was in grade 10. It was just a casual event at our school, and I was glad to win. Actually, what made me decide to compete in my latest big pageantry was the encouragement from the people around me and my desire to step out of my comfort zone.
What does beauty mean to you? It’s more than just looks, right?
Beauty, for me, is nothing without a purpose. A person’s beauty isn’t just measured by their physical appearance, but rather by how compassionate they are and how open-hearted they are to the people around them.
What makes you special? What sets you apart from the other contestants?
I believe that we all have unique qualities that set us apart from others and make us special. For me, it’s my passion and confidence in everything I do.
If you win, how would you use your title to help others?
Actually, I really won the title. As of now, as a titleholder in our community, I am making small steps towards big goals by serving people, especially the youth. I also volunteer in various community activities.
What’s the coolest thing you’ve learned from being in pageants?
I have learned a lot, truly. But I think the coolest lesson is that what may seem easy to do often is not. It takes a lot of work and courage to deliver something good.
How do you deal with people who might say mean things?
Sometimes negative comments affect me, but not that much. I always remind myself that those who say mean things about me don’t really know me. They don’t know anything about me except their hallucinations and hearsay.
What kind of person do you think does well in pageants?
FRIENDLY. I think that being the kind of person who is easy-going and approachable makes someone the coolest and most lovable person ever.
Being in a pageant means a lot of people are watching. How do you stay yourself through it all?
I just look at the people who believe in me and remind myself that it’s a competition. I should know how to handle both great and bad results because we are all deserving.
