How did you get into pageantry? What made you want to compete?
I entered pageantry driven by a desire to amplify the voices of women, especially those who have faced adversity such as domestic violence. It’s an incredible platform to advocate for meaningful causes and inspire positive change in our community.
What does beauty mean to you? It’s more than just looks, right?
Beauty to me transcends physical appearance. It embodies resilience, compassion, and courage. True beauty radiates from within and is reflected in one’s actions and character.
What makes you special? What sets you apart from the other contestants?
My journey as a mother, a social worker, and a Filipina, is deeply rooted in family values. My commitment to community service and empowering women and children fuels my passion to make a meaningful impact beyond the stage.
If you win, how would you use your title to help others?
Winning the title of Mrs. Oceania 2nd runner up would empower me to expand my advocacy efforts. I would use the platform to raise awareness about domestic violence, support initiatives for women’s empowerment, and promote education and community welfare.
What’s the coolest thing you’ve learned from being in pageants?
The most enriching aspect of pageantry has been connecting with diverse individuals and learning about their inspiring stories and causes. It’s a reminder of the collective strength we have in creating positive change.
How do you deal with people who might say mean things?
I believe in staying focused on my purpose and not letting negativity detract from my mission. Constructive criticism is valuable, but I focus on surrounding myself with positivity and support from those who uplift and inspire.
Tell us about a time something amazing happened during a pageant
One memorable moment was witnessing the camaraderie among contestants during the bootcamp. Despite being competitors, we came together for a similar cause which is to make a significant impact in our community, which reinforced the power of unity and shared goals.
What kind of person do you think does well in pageants?
Someone who is passionate about their platform, compassionate towards others, and resilient in facing challenges. Success in pageantry requires authenticity, dedication to service, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference.
Being in a pageant means a lot of people are watching. How do you stay yourself through it all?
Staying true to myself involves staying grounded in my values and staying connected with my purpose. It’s about maintaining authenticity, embracing vulnerability, and using my platform to advocate for causes close to my heart.
What do you dream of doing in the future, pageant world or not?
Beyond pageantry, I dream of continuing my work as a social worker, expanding my impact globally, and empowering marginalized communities. I aspire to contribute to policies that promote social justice and equality, leaving a legacy of positive change for future generations.
From the bottom of my heart, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported me on this incredible journey—my family, friends, fellow Ms. Oceania candidates, and the entire team. Winning the ‘Best National Costume’ and placing as 2nd runner-up was beyond my expectations. This journey was about embracing myself and learning from this amazing experience.
