Beauty Queen Extraordinaire: Ma. Ezra Borbon Requizo

Ezra is an exotic and successful Filipina beauty queen from Tuburan, Cebu who uses her success to promote her causes

What inspired you to start competing in pageants?

I’ve been fascinated by the world of pageants since I was a child. My mother was the one who introduced me to pageantry at a young age; I recall winning my first title at the age of six in a “little miss” pageant in our barangay, and that experience inspired me to push through a career in pageantry.

What qualities do you think are essential for a pageant winner to possess?

I believe resilience and authenticity are key qualities that every pageant winner should embody. resilience because pageants are not a walk in the park, but a rollercoaster journey where we face our highs and lows. authenticity, because to be a beauty queen, one must be real with her intentions and goals.

How do you prepare yourself for each competition, mentally and physically?

Mentally, I focus on visualization and positive affirmations to boost my confidence, while physically, I live a healthy lifestyle through exercise and adequate eating. Because I believe that a beauty queen should prioritize self-care above everything else.

How do you handle nerves and stage fright during the pageant?

Deep breathing techniques and reminding myself to stay present in the moment help me manage nerves and stage fright effectively.

How do you plan to use your platform if you win the title?

If crowned, I intend to stick to my core and use my platform to advocate for causes close to my heart, such as promoting environmental education for the young generation and sustainable tourism and development.

What is the most important lesson you have learned through your pageant experiences?

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is the value of tenacity and remaining true to oneself, regardless of the outcome. It is extremely crucial to remind ourselves how to rise above adversity with grace.

How do you balance your pageant obligations with other commitments in your life?

Balancing pageant commitments with other aspects of my life requires careful planning, prioritization, and the support of a strong network of friends and family.

How do you think pageants can positively impact society?

Pageants can serve as a platform to raise awareness for important social issues, promote diversity and inclusion, and inspire positive change within communities.

What do you hope to gain from your experience competing in pageants?

From my pageant journey, I hope to gain personal growth, lifelong friendships, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the world.
