Beauty Queen Deluxe: Roxwen Delos Santos

Roxwen is a transgender mom who proudly represented Talisay as a winner. She is absolutely gorgeous as you can see for yourself and highly intelligent.

How did you feel when your name was announced as the winner of Queen Philippines International 2017?

To be honest, I never expected that I would win one of the crowns of Queen Philippines 2017, as I was only content being part of it. Most of the girls in the competition were veterans, and I was only a beginner in the industry at that time. So when my province and my name were announced, I felt surprised and proud of myself at the same time.

What motivated you to join the Queen Philippines pageant, and how did you prepare for it?

I joined the Queen Philippines pageant because I wanted to overcome my inferiority complex. There were times that I belittled myself and thought of not doing it because I believed I would never have a chance. I came to realize that it’s now or never, so I came out of my comfort zone, and I did not regret doing it!

Can you describe your experience during the pageant, and what challenges did you face?

It was a roller coaster and an unforgettable experience. Honestly, from pictorials until the pageant night, you always have to be at your best to get noticed. The challenge I had was doubting myself, thinking that I was competing with veteran girls while I was only a beginner. The only thing I did to overcome my doubts was to have faith in God, do my best, and let Him do the rest.

What qualities do you think set you apart from other contestants, and how did you showcase them during the competition?

I can say that they were all equally beautiful and well-spoken. I just did my best and did not think of it as a competition but as a platform for me to showcase what my trainer taught me, making me the best version of myself throughout the competition.

How has winning Queen Philippines International 2017 impacted your life and career, and what are your plans for the future?

The Queen Philippines Pageant opened a lot of doors for me right after winning Queen Philippines International 2017. From being nobody to being known in the industry, it impacted my life up to this very day. I will continue to promote my advocacy of being a trans mother because gender should not be a question of motherhood. We can always be a mother to a child if you give your genuine love, and gender should never be a question.

What advice would you give aspiring beauty pageant contestants, especially those who want to compete in Queen Philippines?

The advice I can give is to always believe in yourself. You are the captain of your life. You know what you are capable of, just put on your heels and be remarkable.

What are some of the valuable lessons you learned during your journey to winning the Queen Philippines International 2017 title?

The valuable lesson I learned during my Queen Philippines journey is to never give up on your dreams. Don’t let other people put you down because they are doubting you. Step out from the shadows and show them that you can always achieve things as long as you are not stepping on others’ shoes. Always believe in yourself because, at the end of the day, you know your happiness, and only you can make the impossible POSSIBLE!
